Liposuction is a minimally invasive cosmetic surgery, with which localized areas of fat accumulation are removed from the body, through a very fine tube called cannula. The fat from this area is sucked from the body through this tube, thus the patient obtains a slim and balanced silhouette. Liposuction also shapes (contours) these areas

Liposuction
Liposuction is used to remove fat from areas of the body that haven’t responded to diet and exercise, such as the:
- Abdomen
- Upper arms
- Buttocks
- Calves and ankles
- Chest and back
- Hips and thighs
- Chin and neck
In addition, liposuction can sometimes be used for breast reduction or treatment of gynecomastia.
After liposuction, patient may experience mild swelling and bruising in the treated areas. The swelling subside within the first two months, when the patient can have a first safe evaluation of the outcome.
For the first three weeks after surgery, the patient has to wear a corset or belt, depending on the treated area, in order to limit swelling.
The patient can return to sports activities after a week (always depending on the amount of fat removed), while at work much sooner. The resulting contour changes are generally permanent — as long as your weight remains stable.
